We had a great weekend and now we are all beat! As a matter of fact, it is 8:40pm and Mike has already headed upstairs!
Friday the kids spent the night with Nana and Pop while we went out with a group of friends. What a great time we had laughing and just hanging out. Saturday welcomed us with a fresh coating of snow that continued all morning. Alexis had a soccer game at 11 and then because of the snow we went over to our friend's, the Moyer's, house and had lunch and the kids played for a few hours. That way we didn't have to drive home and then back in for the 3:30 birthday party Alexis attended at the bowling ally. Then it was off to Chuck and Jane's for dinner and then finally bed time. Today has brought us another busy day starting with church and then home for a quick lunch before our PSU activities. While I took the kids to church, Mike ran 12 miles with his running group as they start to ramp up their training for the April marathon. Mike and I then went to the wrestling match for the highly anticipated PSU/Iowa match and we weren't able to pull it off. We certainly didn't look like the #1 team in the nation. It was fun to watch though, as I haven't been to a wrestling match in about 13 years! We were given 4 awesome Lady Lion basketball tickets so Nana and Pop took the kids to watch the game and were thrilled to be in the front row. Alexis will be getting a t-shirt this week autographed by the whole team and she is beyond excited. (It helps to know the man working the game table!!)
I am planning to drive to Altoona on Tuesday for an informational meeting with the PSU Altoona nursing school to make sure I have all my ducks in a row to apply later this fall for next falls program. I hope I do because I am getting very excited about it! I say I'm 'planning' to go because we're in line for a pretty good snow and ice storm on Tuesday and Wednesday. I guess if I miss this one I'll have to plan for the March date and we all know what a good planner I am!
Have a great week!
Two great kids, our health and awesome family and friends...doesn't get much better!

New Bed and sorts
Alexis got her new bed this week and was so excited about it. Her Aunt Betsy and Uncle John got her a bed canopy for Christmas and she had to wait until the new bed came to be able to put the canopy up. Today was the day. What a princess she is now. She's tucked away in her bed reading a book and looks so cute and cozy. Here's a picture of her new digs:
technical difficulties...hopefully uploaded soon
We're gearing up to watch the Steelers head into the Super Bowl tonight and looking forward to another snowstorm that is supposed to be headed our way later this week. Crossing our fingers its a big one!

Whole Lotta Nothin'
January has been relaxing for us. The hustle and bustle of the holiday season has settled down and we're able to slow down and enjoy. Alexis has started indoor soccer and really seems to be having a great time. Her skills seem to be improving also so that's a plus. Matt is having a great time in school. We're working on sitting still in circle time, that seems to be our biggest challenge as of late! Mike was fortunate enough to be able to attend the Steelers/Ravens game this past Saturday and had a great time. Lucky duck! As for me, I've just been plugging along and enjoying being back in my routine. I'm hopeful that we'll be getting a big snowstorm to keep us all stuck at home for a few days. Hope you all are enjoying your January. I'll try to get a few pictures of the kids to post soon.

Good Start
6 days in and 2011 is going well. We've been trying to settle back into our routine this week but I must admit, it's been rough! I, as well as the kids, have had the worst time getting up in the mornings. This is my first week back at the gym after an almost 4 week hiatus while recovering from pneumonia. (Doesn't seem that long but it is to your body) I have been so exhausted in the evenings from it and I'm not even close to the activity level I was when I got sick. Oh well, slow and steady wins the race or so they say! The kids seem to be doing just otherwise. Alexis had a bit of a breakdown after school today but 'nothing' seems to be reason. That tells me she's either exhausted or getting sick. I'm hopeful she's just tired, stay tuned. I got to go out to lunch today with a friend, just the two of us. It was very nice to sit and converse uninterrupted. Then we hit Starbucks and that hit the spot on this freezing cold day. We're supposed to be getting 2-4 inches of snow tonight so the kids are anxious that they can go sledding. We've had no snow yet this winter so we're hopeful it's coming our way.
Until next time...
