Well, another Halloween down. Matthew was the cutest Winnie the Pooh and Alexis was adorable in her skunk costume that Grandma Weyandt made her last year. (Two years of the skunk-making sure Grandma gets her repayment out of it for all her hard work!) The kids went trick-or-treating in Bellefonte to Nana and Pop's, Aunt Kate and Uncle Freddy's, Aunt Em's and a few friends Thursday night and then around State College tonight with their cousins. Alexis was gung ho, Matthew hates masks and lots of walking so he had a blast for the first 1/2 hour...The kids were happy and Mommy was thrilled with all the yummy chocolate ;)
Getting ready to go with Heather and Gretchen. We had a delicious dinner of mummy dogs (hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls) and monster eye balls (meatball sandwiches) that Aunt CJ and the girls made for us. And we were ready...
Matthew with his Nana on Thursday and then him and Granddad watching Snow White after a long walk for candy. (he didn't want to take his costume off!!)
Two great kids, our health and awesome family and friends...doesn't get much better!

Excitement
Hi all
Just a quick post with my latest excitement. First was tonight- 3 friends and I went to see Sarah Palin speak at Rec hall. Hank Williams, Jr opened for her so that was pretty cool (even if the college student next to me leans over and so innocently says "Who is this guy singing?") We waited a little over an hour in the wind and 40 degree temps to see her but we had awesome seats and it was pretty cool.
But, even better is when I got home. My sister calls me the other week and tells me the local radio station is having a contest for the Wiggles. You had to write in and tell them a story of when your child tried to "wiggle" out of getting in trouble. Well I couldn't think of a thing so I just wrote to them anyhow about how obsessed Matthew is and blah, blah, blah. I even attached a picture of his feathersword birthday cake that I made. Crazy aren't I?? SO last night when I get home I checked my email...would you believe that I had an email saying that I'd won the two tickets(which I don't need) and BACKSTAGE PASSES to meet the Wiggles!!! As they say in blog/web/text world OMG!!! Matthew is going to freak out. I'll keep you posted. We only have 9 more days until the show. Our countdown started at 47 days!! I can't wait to get pictures and to see the look on his face!
So, that's my news...that's the excitement in my life, isn't it great!!

Jack-O-Lantern's
Alexis is all into it. She loved the whole idea around drawing the face, helping Daddy carve it, scooping the 'guts' out, etc. She was in heaven. Matthew on the other hand...
First he surprises us when it was his turn and goes in the playroom and gets his oven mit from his kitchen set. Then he comes out armed and ready. (Don't you love the "Do I really want to do this," scratch the chin, thought process??)
Then came his time to carve. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. Look at the faces, I mean, it's only pumpkin guts. You'd have thought we were making him stick his hands in who know's what! Priceless I tell you. (You can click on the pictures to make them bigger, it may be worth it for your viewing pleasure)
The end result, 2 happy kids, 2 happy jack-o-lantern's.
Happy Halloween!!

Busy Week
This was at Harner Farm for their corn maze. The kids love going there so my sister(Aunt Em) and I took them again this year. They really enjoy it.
This was from PSU Homecoming festivities. I thought I got more good ones but my camera batteries were dying in the midst of all of this. Anyway, the PSU alumni center has an ice cream social every year at homecoming. So after school we picked up Alexis and her, Matthew, myself and a friend of mine all went up for some ice cream. Then we walked around awhile and then went downtown for the big homecoming parade. The kids loved it. The bands, the floats, the candy...you name it. They were worn out by the end of the night.

Oh those kids...
Thought you'd all like this one...
I've been lucky so far as that neither one of my children have ever really said anything to embarrass me. Well today was the day.
It all started when I thought I'd take them into Target with me to look for a few bra's. Ha! While in the dressing room, which had other patrons in it mind you, both of my kids were full of questions about "booby bra's" and "will I have to wear those when I get big" or "why do you wear those, Mommy, can't you just leave it off?" I'm guessing I was very red in the face when I walked out of there with my head down!
Next was at Daddy's last soccer game of the season (he is an assistant coach) and I was sitting on my blanket at the top of the hill. Matthew had run down the hill as he always does. But when he's halfway up he stops and yells "Hey, Mommy, I said excuse me because I tooted!" All the fans around me thought it was just hilarious, I was ready to crawl under my blanket. I guess I should be thankful he used his manners that I'm always harping on him about!!
Enjoy, hope you all are having a great evening.

2nd Annual Weyandt Family Fall Festival
So today was our 2nd Annual Fall Fest. I'm telling you, the weather was AWESOME! Not a cloud in the sky and about 76 degrees. The leaves were beautiful, food was great, kids were so fun and the company couldn't have been better!! These are just a few of the pictures. Enjoy!
Ok ladies...who's having more fun, the mom's taking the ranger for a ride or the son roasting his marshmallow!! Too cute!

Proud Mother
This was from Alexis' back to school night. Matthew hates anything in costume so as soon as he rounded the corner and saw good ole Clifford he was turned back around and climbing up my leg! Needless to say there are NO pictures of Matthew and Clifford. We'll try again next year.
And this...
This is Alexis' first hopscotch "course". Oh my, it just about had me in tears when she finished it and then of course she was so, so, so proud of herself which made it even better! Yet another reason I love being a Mom!!

Best quarter ever spent!
Ok, so you're 3 years old and love, ok, are obsessed with, the Wiggles! This is like an adult hitting the powerball lottery...
He received the top blanket from friends of ours for his birthday. We'll that about sent him over the top. Yesterday he went down to his Aunt Katie and Uncle Freddy's house and they had found the sheets at a yard sale for a quarter! I wasn't there but I can tell by the phone call I got and the excitement when he got home that he was in heaven! Uncle Freddy had to wash them for him so we could put them on his bed when he got home. This goes along with the Wiggles underwear, toys, dress up items, etc. that we have acquired. Not to mention the countdown we have going until they are at the Bryce Jordan Center in November. I am actually concerned the kid may have a stroke when he sees them. I don't get it, but then again I am not a 3 year old little boy;)
